I have been practicing law since 1987 after graduating from Loyola Law School in New Orleans.  Prior to starting my own firm, I practiced with local law firms that represented various injured works and handled general maritime claims, as well as personal injury claims.  More than 20 years ago, I started my own firm to focus my practice on representing injured workers.  Over my career, I have had the pleasure of representing injured men, women, and their families for various types of injuries under the Longshore and Harbor Workers' Compensation  Act, the Defense Base Act, the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act, the Jones Act, personal injury claims, and general maritime claims. I have handled cases before the DOL, the Office of Administrative Law Judges, the Benefits Review Board, and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. I have  additionally tried numerous bench and jury trials in various state and federal district courts.

I am a frequent lecturer on topics that arise under the Defense Base Act and Longshore Act. I regularly participate in the Annual Loyola Longshore Conference, and I am a member the Loyola Longshore Conference Advisory Board. I have presented numerous Continuing Legal Education seminars to other attorneys on the Longshore and Defense Base Act. In 2016 WILG, a national advocacy group for injured workers, presented me with the WILG Longshore/DBA Excellence in Practice Award.  I have the highest rating with Martindale-Hubbell for legal skills and ethics.

I have been married for 30 years to my wife Jamee. We have three sons. When not working, I enjoy salt-water fishing and sporting events.
